I have been on hypertension meds for a few years now. I have been taking 2.5mg of Amlodipine each day. Recently, my company GP decided to take me off the meds, asking me to monitor my BP first thing
in the morning and last thing at night. I’ve been doing so religiously and realise that my BP at these times are perfectly normal, around 110/75. However, I tried to take my BP reading during the day too and it goes as high up as 145/95. So which reading(s) determine if I should continue the meds? I’m almost 52 and one side effect from the BP meds is slight swelling of my lower leg, which has gone away since I stopped the meds. Help!

I never saw 2.5 mg of Amlodipine. I thought 5 mg is the Lowes does

I am not a doctor. Standard method for blood pressure measurement, require resting on a chair with back seat, without making a lote of movement, for UpTo 15 minutes. Because for every movement the blood pressure may increase.
