I have swelling lymph nodes in my submental
Hi, I'm 17 year old, female. I just want to share my health problem I experiencing. So i think it started with a tooth decayed in my molar then few months I noticed there's a pea size lump in my neck (subment part) next thing is I started sneezing, have runny nose, nasal drip and clear discharge on my nose (i think its like allergy rhinitis) and started getting sick. Fortunately, the fever and allergy lasted for a week and I was feeling better. My problem is that I still have lump. So i went to dentist because i thought it's from tooth infection. I just want to ask if my previous experiences is because of my tooth? And what are the causes of swelling lymph nodes? Does that mean cancer i hope mine is not.

From your history, it is likely to be an inflammatory lymph node. It will usually become smaller once the infection is treated.  Sometimes, the swelling may not disappear completely.  If it is a few mm, it may be monitored for increasing size or pain.  If you are worried of cancer, please consult a doctor for an assessment.
