Hi. I am afraid you have to get a pregnancy test done at some point, the earlier the better. The morning-after pill (Plan B) is known to cause irregular bleeding after taking it; failure of the pill to work is possible, especially if not taken in a timely manner. If your pregnancy test is negative, you can safely do nothing and wait for your proper period to start. If you are indeed pregnancy, then help is easily available to get your though this rough patch. Many clinics in Singapore, including mine, are able to provide the necessary counselling and support for unplanned pregnancies. Your first step is to determine if you are indeed pregnant. So please do get a simple urine test done, either at home, or in the clinic. Everything else will fall into place thereafter.

Thank you Dr Steven, can I know where your clinic is located?  I am very paranoid about this. If the bleeding was not period, then there is a reason to worry because I missed my proper period.

I'm extremely regretful for what I did. I blame bad education on my parents and lack of self-discipline which led to what I am now.

There is no shame in what happened; even the most virtuous and vigilant may be faced with contraceptive failure. This is an inherent risk of these commercial  products. Do not feel too bad about it. Most important step now is to confirm if you are pregnant or not. If you prefer to do this in my clinic, you may give us a call on 69802970 to arrange.

Dear @Julie199909 I will suggest you purchase a urine pregnancy test kit to test for pregnancy as your period was late for 8 days. and  there is potential failure from emergency contraceptives. Alternatively, you might wish to visit a GP who will be able to perform a pregnancy test in clinic, to rule out any pregnancy. You might also wish to get a trusted friend of yours to accompany you to the doctor's clinic. Hope this helps.
