Breast cancer screening
My 75 year old grandmother is suffering from CKD since 10 years. Never undergone dialysis though.
She's on medication for ckd and cardiac issues (suffered a heart attack 3 years ago and got 2 stents placed). Since a year she was complaining of skin itching near the chest area which eventually turned to red lumps. Now her skin in that area has thickened and turned into black spits. She complains of pain when ditched. Blood oozed out when she forcefully tried to burst out few lumps once. But no discharge or anything apart from that. Given her medical history and age, is it a good idea to go for a cancer screening. She's quite scared about it.

Thanks for sharing- just from the description, it sounds like more of a skin condition (eg eczema)! Regarding breast screening- ie. Mammogram, it is always good to check, to ensure that the breasts themselves are healthy. My personal opinion is, the patient has the choice to decide if he or she wants any treatment. Professionally, do encourage her to see a doctor, just so that a doctor can examine and confirm that it's just a skin problem, and not from the breast.
