So I started taking Avkare birth control in November 2020. Then I got my first ever yeast infection maybe three weeks later. I was so scared and confused because obviously that was my first ever yeast infection, and I had just turned 18 so I didn’t really know if this kind of thing was common or not, and was too embarrassed to ask. So my gynecologist said that my birth control had nothing to do with the infections (which obviously is not true; as i’ve read so many stories about people who’ve never gotten a yeast infection until they started bc). She gave me flucanazole and sent me on my way. Since then, I had maybe 3 yeast infections every few months, but somehow I would always find a way to get rid of it rather quickly. Then my gyno changed my birth control to Tri sprintec. Since then, I noticed yeast starting to build up on my vagina externally (like directly under the opening). What medication will help? Nystatin isn’t helping it clear up
